Chief Executives and all senior officials are reminded of their responsibilities under the NSW Government Expenses Policy in relation to the expenditure of State funds, particularly in respect of Christmas and end of year parties.
The attached NSW Government Expenses Policy outlines sector-wide requirements which prohibit the expenditure of State funds on any event that will provide predominantly personal benefit to NSW public sector employees.
I would ask you to exercise restraint in the scale and expenditure of any publicly funded reception or similar event to mark Christmas and the end of the year.

Which agencies does this Circular apply to?
All public sector agencies and employees in the Government Service (Public Service Departments, Non-Public Service Divisions and Special Employment Divisions), the Teaching Service, NSW Police and the NSW Health Service.
