PSCC-2016-04-2016 Premier's Awards for Public Service

Description

  • The Premier’s Awards for Public Service aim to recognise success and promote excellence in public service delivery.  They encourage sector-wide reflection on performance levels achieved and motivate individuals and teams to continually improve systems and services to achieve better outcomes for the NSW community.
  • Nominations open today 30 May 2016 and close on 22 July 2016.
  • Awards Ambassadors will coordinate the awards program across agencies.

 

Detailed Outline

This year’s Premier’s Awards has twelve categories to showcase achievements and progress towards the NSW Premier’s priorities.  The categories are:

  • Improving Government Services
  • Improving Education Results
  • Driving Public Sector Diversity
  • Protecting Our Kids
  • Creating Jobs
  • Keeping our Environment Clean
  • Reducing Domestic Violence
  • Building Infrastructure
  • Improving Service Levels in Hospitals
  • Faster Housing Approvals
  • Tackling Childhood Obesity
  • Reducing Youth Homelessness

There will be a team and individual winner in each of these categories. The Premier’s Award for Individual Excellence and Achievement and the Anthea Kerr Award will continue to feature in the 2016 Premier’s Awards.

Individuals and agencies are encouraged to nominate staff, peers, projects and partnerships that showcase the excellent achievements in their organisations.

Nominations for the Premier’s Awards for Public Service will open on 30 May 2016. The nominated Award Ambassadors will coordinate the awards program across their agency.  All nominations will close on 22 July 2016.

Finalists will be announced on the Premier’s Awards website in September 2016.  Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 25th October 2016.  Further information on the awards including a list of Awards Ambassadors, and details of categories, criteria and how to nominate is available at www.publicserviceawards.nsw.gov.au.
