About
Chief Executives were advised on 7 September 1990, that the Premier had approved of new expense payment benefit options for SES officers to apply from 1 October 1990. A circular was prepared (Circular 90/24 - issued 5 Nov 1990) to provide additional information to assist in the administration of these options and to provide advice on changes to motor vehicle costs effective 1 October 1990
The revised running costs of motor vehicles based on categories of sedans and station sedans in Government contract, effective from 1 October 1990, were advised in that circular.
The Strategic Policy Unit of the Commercial Services Group, who have the responsibility for policy development and advice on motor vehicle use in the public sectors have now advised of a further review of motor vehicle running costs as they should be applied to the Senior Executive Service.
Accordingly, I have determined that the following rates should be applied, effective from 1 April 1991 to 1 October 1991:
New Rates:
small cars 9.3 cents per kilometre
medium cars 10.8 cents per kilometre
large cars 11.8 cents per kilometre
large executive cars 13.8 cents per kilometre
All kilometres travelled during this period are to charged at the new rate. Agencies may choose to adjust individual SES packages as at April 1991 or to adjust packages retrospectively at a time when other adjustments are to be made, or at an annual review date.
Should you have any further enquiries on this matter, please contact Steve McIntosh from the SES Unit on 228-5491.
R. G. Humphry,
Director General.
