C1995-09 Costs Associated with Changes to Portfolio and Agency Names

Detailed Outline

A number of New South Wales government agencies and units within agencies are undergoing name changes as a result of portfolio and agency restructuring.

You will be aware that the Government is committed to reducing waste in public sector administration.

As part of the Government's commitment, the Premier has requested that Chief Executive Officers take all practical steps to minimise the costs associated with changes to stationery, signage, and related agency identification material.

Each agency is required to minimise the cost of any change of name by using strategies including, but not limited to: using existing stationery until all stock has been exhausted before purchasing stationery with the agency's new nomenclature; ensuring any new letterhead and related material is designed in-house at little or no cost; and other strategies considered by CEOs to be economical.

Your cooperation in this matter is requested.
