About

Memo of Ministers 1992-19 issued on 29 July 1992 advised of the imposition of mandatory sanctions against Serbia and Montenegro in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 757.

The Security Council Resolution 1022 has suspended sanctions against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and in accordance with that resolution, the Commonwealth Government has lifted most of the sanctions which had previously applied.

The only two areas in which sanctions continue to apply are:

  1. Sanctions against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) continue to
  2. Resolution 1022 provides for sanctions to remain in place against the Bosnian Serb party until the day after the Commander of the International Force reports to the Security Council that all Bosnian Serb forces have withdrawn behind the zones of separation established in the Dayton Peace Agreement. Sanctions against the Bosnian Serb party will remain in place until further notice.

Would you please arrange for this memo to be brought to the attention of all Departments and Authorities under your administration.
