Detailed Outline
Chief Executive Officers were advised in July to apply the three (3) percent salary increase as a result of the Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries, August 1995) Award to Ministers staff on rates up to the equivalent of Clerk Grade 12 maximum ($66,063 pa)
The recent determination by the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT) to award an increase of three (3) percent to SES office holders is to include staff employed in Ministers Offices above maximum Grade 12 Administrative and Clerical level, ie,'SES equivalent staff.
Consistent with the approach taken by the Premier in respect to the application of the SOORT. determination, Ministers should review the performance of those staff on SES type remuneration, ie, above $66,063 pa and determine if an increase is warranted with effect from 1 October 1996.
Generally, those senior staff employed or transferred since 1 October 1996, or those staff who have received an increase in salary since that date, are not eligible for any increase until the 1997 determination of the SOORT.
As soon as 1 have received your recommendations, the Chief Executive Officer of your host agency will be appropriately advised.
It is intended that increases are to be funded from your existing global budget allocation.
