COUNSELLING SERVICES FOR DISPLACED MINISTERIAL STAFF

The Premier's Department is committed to ensuring all employees have equal access to all services and opportunities. In this context, it is appropriate that the availability of counselling services for displaced employees in public sector organisations be extended to include displaced staff in Ministers' Offices. 

As in the case of public sector employees, the purpose of the service is to assist displaced Ministerial Staff in their re-entry into the workforce. Sessions will cover both the stress and vocational issues typically addressed in counselling of this nature. 

Funding of the service will be from each Ministers' Office and calculated on a user pays basis. Accordingly, Ministers Offices will be required to submit a written request on each occasion to the Director-General, Premier's Department for approval to access counselling. 

Counselling services will be made available, at the discretion of the Director-General, Premier's Department, for all staff of Ministers' Offices displaced on or after 23 December, 1996.
