C1997-07 Crown Employees (Wages Staff) Rates of Pay Award

Detailed Outline

The purpose of this Circular is to advise those organisations employing staff under the Crown Employees (Wages Staff) Rates of Pay Award of the current wages and allowances.

The Award was recently settled by the parties. The terms of the settlement include an adjustment to the rates of pay from the first pay period to commence on or after 1 July 1995. The PEO Circular No. 1996-39 advised organisations of the 10% increase. Prior to the settlement, the parties agreed that the cumulative effect of the 4% plus 3% plus 3% increases is marginally higher than 10% and this should be reflected in the rates of pay.

A similar adjustment has been made to work related allowances (see PEO Circular No. 1996-43, which is now adjusted to reflect the cumulative effect of the increases). Also, expense related allowances have been increased in line with the National Building and Construction Award and other relevant awards effective from September 1996.

The Award now includes the TAFE Commission of NSW - Home Science Assistants Agreement No. 2342 of 1981 effective from December 1996.

The increases in rates of pay, work related allowances and expense allowances are shown in the attached schedules. Rates of pay, work related allowances and expense allowances in organisation specific industrial instruments, not covered by the Award, are not affected.

Any enquiries may be directed to either Jim Medd on telephone number
(02) 9228 3579 or Merillyn Grey on telephone number (02) 9228 3593.
