Detailed Outline
The purpose of this circular is to advise departments that the services of the Crown Solicitor's office will cease to be available to transferred officers as from 1 April 1998.
As a result, transferred officers will no longer be required to comply with the provisions contained in paragraph (f) of subclause (ii) of Clause 11. Conveyancing and Other Costs of the Crown Employees (Transferred Officers Compensation) Award.
Claims already lodged but not finalised by 1 April 1998 will be processed by the Crown Solicitor's Office under the former arrangements. All new claims however are to be forwarded by transferred officers directly to their department for assessment and payment, as appropriate.
To assist departments with the assessment of claims, the Crown Solicitor's Office will conduct training sessions for nominated departmental staff. Advice regarding the training sessions will be published in the Public Service Notices in the near future.
