Detailed Outline
A celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the raising of the Citizen Military Forces/Army reserve and volunteer service in the Nation's Reserve Forces will take the form of a Parade through the capital cities of each State and the Northern Territory on Wednesday 1st July, 1998. Form up for the Parade will commence at 10am at 'First Fleet Park' and the Sydney Cove (Overseas Terminal), Circular Quay.
The Reserve Forces Day Parade will be a public event giving the community an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the contribution and value of Reserve service to the Nation. Past and present members of all three services of the CMF/Reserve Forces are encouraged to attend.
To mark the occasion, special purpose leave has been granted for eligible public sector staff who wish to take part in the Parade, subject to Departmental convenience.
Please bring this matter to the attention of your Department and any Sub-Department or Authority coming within, or associated with, your Administration.
