Circular 98-18 invited nominations in four categories for the 1998 Premier's Public Sector Awards.

An additional category has now been created to recognise significant contributions to corporate services efficiency. The key selection criteria for this new category are:

• development of an efficient and flexible corporate services capability that is of world class standard
• use of options, models or strategies for achieving cost-effective reforms that are suitable for adoption across the sector
• achieving improvement through the adoption of shared service arrangements
• achieving improvement in OHS management, including prevention strategies, rehabilitation of injured workers and effective claims management
• establishing innovative people management strategies to add value to service outcomes
