The recent release of the Howard Government's proposals for reform of the taxation system prompts the need for the New South Wales Government to consider the implications of the reform proposals on its fimctions and administration.

The co-operation of all Chief Executives is sought in identifying the impact of proposed taxation reforms on their administrations and for this information to be supplied at the earliest possible time to The Treasury which will co-ordinate the submission and present them to Cabinet.

It is suggested that Chief Executives should contact The Treasury in order to ascertain the appropriate form of presentation of relevant information which will enable efficient compilation of a Cabinet submission.

Thanks is expressed to those Chief Executives who have already provided advice for the Cabinet submission. However, given time for further appraisal of the taxation package updated information should be provided through to The Treasury to enable Cabinet consideration.
