C1998-87 Application of Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal Decision to Ministers' Senior Staff

Detailed Outline

I refer to the recent decision on Senior Executive Service (SES) remuneration handed down by the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT). The determination has been considered and I have approved the flow on of a 4% increase for all staff on remuneration packages linked to SOORT.

In line with earlier decisions this increase must be linked to a formal performance review. I have attached a pro forma detailing the staff in your office who are eligible for the increase. Please return the completed pro forma to Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MAPS) Division by 30 October 1998.

Any approved increase in remuneration will be effective from 1 October 1998. MAPS Division will advise the Chief Executive Officers of your host agency.

All increases in remuneration are to be funded from within the current budget allocation.
