Detailed Outline
The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award, 2002 (the Award) was made in the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales on 9 December 2002. The Award applies to all officers and departmental temporary employees as defined in the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002, employed in departments listed in Schedule 1 to the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002. The Award is effective on and from 9 December 2002 and the term of the Award is three years.
The Award rescinds and replaces the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award, 1997.

To assist departments to identify the changes to the 1997 Award, the changes are indicated in bold type. Copies of the Award are available on the Premiers Department website (www.dpc.nsw.gov.au). The major changes to the Award are contained in the following clauses:
- Clause 9 - Grievance and Dispute Settling Procedures,
- Clause 20 - Flexible Working Hours,
- Clause 73 - Adoption Leave, and
- Clause 75 - Family and Community Service Leave.
Please bring this new Award to the attention of relevant staff within your agency.
