C2005-07 Principles for the Operation and Conduct of meetings of Senior Officer Groups

Detailed Outline

Senior Officer Groups are formal, high-level, non-statutory, multi-agency committees established to address strategic, policy, planning, administrative, program, service delivery or other matters of whole-of-sector or inter-departmental concern. They are an important administrative mechanism to aid inter-departmental collaboration, coordination, integration and innovation.

The Chief Executive Committee has endorsed a set of 'Principles for the Operation and Conduct of meetings of Senior Officer Groups' to ensure that their operation is effective and efficient without reducing their capacity to develop innovative solutions to inter-departmental issues. The Principles comprise two parts: Part A: Operating Principles and B: Principles for the Conduct of Meetings.

The Principles apply to the Senior Officer Groups established by the Chief Executive Committee (CEC) and Cluster Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).

The Principles should also be considered for application by other Senior Officer Groups, Taskforces and Inter-Departmental Committees (IDCs) which operate in the NSW Public Sector, as appropriate.

The Principles can be found on the Premier's Department Website.
