Detailed Outline
In the last paragraph of Circular No. 2004-13 PAYG Taxation Arrangements 2004/05 Financial Year which sets out information regarding taxation options for the 2004/05 financial year, reference was made to superannuation payments.
The purpose of this Circular is to confirm that employer and employee contributions for the State Superannuation Scheme and State Authorities Superannuation Scheme are only required for 26 periods in each financial year. Accordingly, contributions are not required for the 27th pay period on 30 June 2005.
Employer contributions to the First State Superannuation Scheme are not affected by the extra pay period and should be paid as usual.
