Detailed Outline
The Crown Employees (Public Service Training Wage) Award 2002 was varied by the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (Schmidt J) on 22 August 2005 to provide for increases in rates of pay for public service trainees covered by the award. The rates were increased in accordance with the State Wage Case Decision 2005 and are in line with movements to the National Training Wage Award 2000 arising from the Safety Net Review - Wages June 2005.
A copy of the variation is attached. The new rates will come into effect from the first full pay period on or after 8 September 2005.
Any enquiries should be directed to Debbie Arrebola on telephone number 9228-3565.

Table 2 Hourly Wage Rates
Set out below are the hourly rates of pay for part time or school based trainees where the training is either fully off the job or where 20% of time is spent in approved training. These rates are derived from a 35 hour week. If the ordinary full time weekly hours are not 35, the appropriate hourly rate may be obtained by multiplying the rate in the table by 35 and then dividing by the ordinary full time hours.
