This is to advise that the report of the Retirement Intentions Survey has been completed and is available on the NSW Premier's Department website (follow the link from our Publication section to the Workforce Profile & Planning website). Printed copies of the report will be distributed to agencies within the next few weeks.
The survey was conducted in August 2005. Agencies were provided with an overview of responses in November 2005 via on-line report of sector, cluster and agency responses.
This report provides the first comprehensive analysis of the survey responses. It aims to inform public sector agencies and employees about the survey findings and to generate a wider discussion about the findings. In particular, this analysis highlights influences on retirement timing, and identifies common themes and issues for future action.
There are several recommendations addressing further work that will be undertaken by the Public Employment Office in response to the main survey findings. In undertaking this work, the PEO will be working closely with agencies, relevant unions and employees.
