'Making It Our Business' is the NSW Government's plan to improve its policies and employment programs in ways that will deliver tangible improvements to the lives of Aboriginal people and their communities.

'Making It Our Business': Improving Aboriginal Employment in the NSW Public Sector 2006-2008, was developed in consultation with a multi-agency Aboriginal Employment and Development Steering Committee and was endorsed by the CEO Group on Aboriginal Affairs. 'Making It Our Business' is a joint initiative of the NSW Premier's Department and the Department of Aboriginal Affairs.

'Making It Our Business' consists of a strong Policy Statement and a Strategic Framework and Resources Guide supported by the NSW Premier, The Hon. Morris Iemma and the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, The Hon. Milton Orkopoulos.

This innovative and renewed strategic approach will guide agencies in achieving sustainable employment, development and retention outcomes for Aboriginal people across all levels of the NSW public sector.

'Making It Our Business' reaffirms the Government's commitment to achieving a minimum of 2% Aboriginal representation by 2008.

I strongly encourage all agencies to be aware of and utilise the valuable guidance and support offered through 'Making It Our Business'.
