Detailed Outline
Chief Executives would be aware that severe storms and flooding hit the Hunter & Central Coast regions over the weekend.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the agencies, staff and volunteers that assisted with the emergency effort. The efforts of those involved were outstanding.
Although the emergency phase has now passed, the storms caused extensive damage to infrastructure and personal property in these regions and considerable work is required to assist with clean up activities and to restore basic services to households and businesses.
Work has commenced to establish recovery operations in both regions, including the establishment of a number of one stop' shops.
The one stop' shops will provide single contact points for people and businesses who require access to: State and Federal government agency support; service providers such as insurers; telephone and electricity authorities; and relevant non-government agencies.
Your assistance and the assistance of your agency may be required to help support the recovery effort. This may include a request to provide staff to work in one or more of the one stop' shops.
It would be appreciated if you could ensure any requests made to your agency by the Regional Coordinators for assistance with establishing the one stop' shops or with other aspects of the recovery process, are treated as a priority.
