Circular No 2008-07 – Special Leave for Staff to Volunteer with World Youth Day Co‑ordination Authority was released on 4 March 2008.
The World Youth Day Co‑ordination Authority (WYDCA) has now set up a “Volunteers” web page on its website.
Agencies are asked to direct interested employees to the “Volunteers” web page at http://www.wydca.nsw.gov.au/volunteers. The web page provides information about the volunteer program and provides an online mechanism for employees to express interest as a volunteer.
Applications by an employee for special leave should be processed through their manager in the usual way.
Please note: The Government’s WYDCA Volunteer Program is separate to the Catholic Church’s WYD2008 Volunteer Program. The WYDCA Volunteer Program is only open to Public Sector employees, not members of the general public. Public Sector employees who volunteer for the Church’s WYD2008 program will not receive special leave under Circular 2008 – 07.
