Description
Wednesday, 15 October 2008 is National Ride to Work Day.
National Ride to Work Day is the perfect opportunity to combine cycling with a daily commute. Last year thousands of new cyclists participated in the event, and many of them are now enjoying the benefits of regular bike commuting.
All public sector employees are encouraged to try riding to work as:
- it can improve your health and reduce the likelihood of you suffering from obesity, diabetes and heart disease;
- it can save you money by reducing the costs associated with driving or catching public transport to work; and
- you will be helping the environment by reducing your greenhouse gas emissions.
The NSW Government is committed to promoting cycling and improving cycling facilities as part of a balanced transport system for New South Wales.
