C2008-46 Changes to Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2006 and Clerical Officer Pay Scales

The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2006 was varied on 13 November 2008. The changes arise from agreement in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government and the Public Service Association (PSA) to settle the Crown Employees Salaries Award.

The Conditions Award applies to all officers and departmental temporary employees as defined in the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002, employed in Departments listed in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002.

Detailed Outline

The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2006 was varied on 13 November 2008. The changes arise from agreement in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government and the Public Service Association (PSA) to settle the Crown Employees Salaries Award.

The Conditions Award applies to all officers and departmental temporary employees as defined in the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002, employed in Departments listed in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Public Sector Employment and Management Act, 2002.

The variations to the Award are effective on and from 13 November 2008, with the exception of changes to sick leave accrual arrangements in clause 80, which will commence from 1 January 2009 for existing staff. The Award remains in force until varied or rescinded, the nominal term having already expired.

At Schedule A is a summary of the changes to conditions under the varied award.

Please bring this revised Conditions Award to the attention of relevant staff within your agency.

The Award, including a copy with the changes indicated in bold will also be placed on the Department of Premier and Cabinet website www.dpc.nsw.gov.au under Public Sector Employment Pay and Conditions.

Agencies covered by the Crown Employees Salaries Award Memorandum of Understanding that have enterprise specific awards will need to vary their conditions as soon as practicable in line with these variations.

Changes to the Personnel Handbook are also currently being prepared in relation to the changes outlined in Schedule A.

The Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries 2008) Award was also varied to remove the clerical officer pay scale and translate those existing employees into the administrative and clerical officer scale. The translation table is at Schedule B. The revised administrative and clerical officers pay scale including the extended clerk general scale is at Schedule C.
