C2009-11 SES/Senior Officer Motor Vehicle Charges 2009 - 2010

Detailed Outline

Keypoints

  • New charges: the SES/Senior Officer motor vehicle charges take effect from 1 April 2009.
  • New parking space levy: the charges announced in the November 2008 Mini budget have been incorporated into the charges and are effective from 1 July 2009.
  • Running costs: the slight decrease in the running cost per kilometre is a direct result of the small decrease in the price of a litre of fuel over the year.
  • Standing costs: the contract for Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance is used to determine the prices for CTP. There has been an increase in CTP charges in this category of between $38-$57.

Attachments: C2009-11 - Appendices

Charges for SES/Senior Officer motor vehicles are attached at Appendix 1.

Notes on SES/Senior Officer Motor Vehicle Packages 2009 - 2010 are attached at Appendix 2.

Components in Calculating a Package are attached as Appendix 3 and a Motor Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Package Calculator is attached as Appendix 4.

All remuneration packages should continue to be costed to include the parking space levy (where applicable), fringe benefits tax and either the vehicle's standard operating lease offered by StateFleet or the lease fee specified in the Deed of Novation (as appropriate).

Agency owned vehicles used in salary sacrifice arrangements must have a lease fee calculation or acknowledgement of the fee applied from StateFleet, which is consistent with the vehicle variant (make/model/series) and term the vehicle will be held.
