Detailed Outline
The Public Sector Employment and Management (General) Regulation 1996 (1996 Regulation) was repealed on 1 September 2009. It was replaced with the Public Sector Employment and Management Regulation 2009 (the Regulation).
The Regulation continues arrangements that are not provided for elsewhere such as higher duties, selection procedures, and health assessments.
The minor changes in the Regulation include removing allowances applying only to officers (not executive officers) and departmental temporary employees already provided for in the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 2009. These include meal, remote area, absence on official duties and work related expenses allowances.
I approved the recent leave enhancements/restrictions for non SES officers being extended to executive officers and the Regulation now clarifies that leave arrangements in the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 2009 are taken to apply to executive officers and those members of staff not covered by a State Industrial Instrument.
The Personnel Handbook will be updated shortly to include references to the Regulation.
