A new press clipping contract has been awarded to Media Monitors. It commences 1 March 2012 and replaces the service currently provided by Media Research Group.

The contract provides for a digital, web based service which will be available to Ministers’ offices and agencies. It will be restricted to significant government issues and will cover metropolitan, suburban and regional press clips. The Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) will continue to meet all costs on the basis that all keywords are placed with, and approved by, the Department’s Media Monitoring Unit (MMU). Any exemptions from this arrangement will require approval from the Director General, DPC.

The existing website for radio and television media monitoring will be updated to include press clippings. Staff already accessing that site will automatically have access to the press clips. Those who do not already have access may request it from MMU. Contact details for MMU are:

There is no need for agencies to re-register existing keywords with MMU.

The last day for press clippings delivered by fax and courier, under the current service, will be 29 February 2012.
