M1990-57 Capital Works Committee Evaluation of Aircraft

Detailed Outline

The recent review of N.S.W. Public Sector Air Services, conducted by the Office of Public Management, revealed that in addition to the usual procedures to be followed for proposals to the Capital Works Committee, specific evaluation criteria should be addressed when submitting proposals for the acquisition of aircraft.

Attached is a list of the significant factors which the review identified as being a necessary component of any evaluation undertaken to support a decision for purchase of aircraft. Submissions to the Capital Works Committee should demonstrate that an appropriate range of these factors have been addressed in detail in reaching the option proposed.

Would you please ensure that this Memorandum is brought to the attention of all Departments and Authorities within your administration.

Yours sincerely

R G Humphry
Director-General
