Detailed Outline
The contractual arrangement between Traveland and the New South Wales Government for the provision of air travel reservation services has now run its term and the requisite written notice has been given to Traveland of the State's intention to withdraw from the present arrangement.
During the three months from 6 January 1993 covered by the period of that written notice, Traveland will continue to be the sole agency for the provision of air travel reservation services. During this period, the following conditions will apply:
- Traveland will make all reservations on the 'best fare of the day" basis with travellers being tree to choose their own carrier.
- Monthly air savings reports will be issued to all departments and authorities detailing all travel undertaken, the fare paid, and the lowest fare for that day, showing the actual savings obtained or foregone.
- The discount for domestic travel increases to 2% deducted from the invoice at point of sale. (Replaces previous 1% discount for travel paid within 7 days of invoicing).
- For international travel the discount will be 5% deducted from invoice at the point of sale. (Replacing previous 3% deducted at point of sale and the further 1% if paid within the 7 days of invoicing).
It is the Premier's intention that Cabinet will shortly consider what arrangements will apply for air travel reservation services at the end of the current 3 month notice period. Further advice will be supplied to Ministers for agencies' information as soon as possible.
