I have recently accepted an invitation from the Commonwealth Government for the NSW Government to jointly organise a "Meet the Buyers" event and seminar program at Rosehill Racecourse on 6 - 7 October, 1993.

The event is designed to strengthen the link between Government purchasing dollars and the development of NSW and Australian industry. It provides an opportunity for government agencies to outline their procurement needs and procedures to a wider range of potential suppliers. The prime objective being to encourage local firms, especially small to medium enterprise to compete for Government contracts.

The Office of Economic Development (OED) is co-ordinating the participation of NSW government agencies. The Office will work closely with the Commonwealth Department of Administrative Services to ensure a strong representation from NSW, Local and Commonwealth Government Agencies.

Would you please nominate a representative from your administration to work with the OED to ensure that this important event is a success. Further information will then be provided and detailed discussions and planning initiated.
