To assist in the forward planning of the Government's Legislative Program, it is necessary that details be provided of those legislative matters which it is intended be brought to Parliament in the Autumn Session.

It would be appreciated if the attached pro-forma schedule could be completed for each legislative proposal. It is important that a target date for each stage indicated on the schedule be nominated in order for the computerised program maintained by The Cabinet Office to function effectively. It is not sufficient to say that a date is dependent on the stage above.

A schedule should be completed for every piece of legislation intended for the Session. Schedules should be returned no later than Friday, 3rd December, 1993 as I would like to have preliminary discussions with Cabinet based on these returns shortly thereafter.

After submission of the individual schedules, any changes should be notified by the presentation of a new schedule.

To ensure that the Program's objectives are achieved, it is important that Cabinet Minutes for all the major legislative proposals for the Session are with The Cabinet Office no later than the start of the Session in March 1994.

Any matter which is received after that time, and which is not regarded as essential for the Session will not be accorded any special priority for Cabinet listing, or for drafting of the Bill by the Parliamentary Counsel.
