I refer to Cabinet's Decision of 8 March this year reiterating the Government's policy in relation to superannuation and leave arrangements for employees in areas of Government which are transferred to the private sector.

I would like to reinforce that Ministers must adhere to the policy as endorsed by Cabinet on 8 March. In particular, the policy requires Ministers to liaise closely with the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment, as Minister responsible for superannuation matters, in the initial planning stages of any proposed transfer of Government operations to the private sector. Please ensure such consultation is undertaken.

I should be pleased if you would ensure that this memorandum is brought to the attention of relevant officers within your administration.
