The accompanying booklet outlines one of the core components of the Government's approach to Executive Development in the NSW Public Sector. The Women Executives' Strategy is a commitment by the NSW government to equity in the work place and reflects the Government's continuing commitment to best practice in public sector management. The aim of the Strategy is to attract and retain high calibre women executives.

The components of the Strategy are wide rangingand reflect innovative work practices and opportunities available for women which will enhance their working skills and experiences

It is requested that Ministers ensure that all public agencies within their administration including authorities outside the public service take the opportunity to engender in their agencies the philosophy behind executive development, particularly this success rate focusing on women, and to encourage and promote participation in the forunis and opportunities made available through the strategies outlined in the documents.

I request that Ministers prepare a brief report by 1 December 1995 and annually thereafter, to Cabinet, outlining each Portfolio's approach and success in attracting, developing and retaining women executives through the Women Executives' In addition commencing in 1995 all Ministers will report annually, to ODEOPE, EEO statistics on officers in the Senior Executive Service similar to that produced for other public sector staff..
