I refer to Memorandum No. 1995-17 concerning "Public Statements on Olympic and Paralympic Games".

I appreciate the co-operation that Ministers have given to the Minister for the Olympics in complying with this directive.

As from today all public statements (including speeches and papers) to be made by department officials about the Olympic and Paralympic Games, or matters associated with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, should be cleared in advance with the Olympic Co-ordination Authority (OCA).

The initial point of contact at the OCA is Ms Bev Bowyer, Director, Ministerial and Executive Support Services on 9228 4350.

Please bring this Memorandum to the attention of Chief Executive Officers in your portfolio, requesting them to ensure it is disseminated to relevant officers.
