Description
As part of the NSW Government's commitment to the development of a responsive, flexible public sector, the policy and guidelines on Employer Sponsored Child Care have been revised.
Detailed Outline
As part of the NSW Government's commitment to the development of a responsive, flexible public sector, the policy and guidelines on Employer Sponsored Child Care have been revised.
The revised document is the result of extensive consultation with public agencies. It provides a range of options for child care arrangements and will assist agencies to identify the need for employer sponsored child care, to evaluate child care options and, where appropriate, to implement them.
The NSW Government encourages the implementation of employer sponsored child care arrangements as a way for public agencies to improve performance and productivity through work arrangements that are mutually beneficial for agencies and their employees. The Government recognises that there is increasing pressure on families and this requires agencies to develop human resource strategies which will assist employees to balance the demands of work and family.
Please ensure that all public agencies within your administration including, authorities outside the public service, continue their efforts to implement employer sponsored child care arrangements.
Achievements will be monitored by the Public Sector Management Office. Enquiries in relation to this policy should be directed to Judith Withers, telephone (02) 9228 5514.
