Description
Superseded by C2001-13Detailed Outline
The Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT) has made its annual determination in relation to Chief and Senior Executive Service (SES). It should be noted that the former 8 level structure is to replace the current band structure for the SES.
In summary the Tribunal has determined that:
- That minimum rates for each level be increased by 2 percent and the maximum rates for each level be increased by 6 percent on and from 1 October, 1997.
- The Recruitment and Retention allowance be expanded to include SES levels 7 and 8 and be adjusted to approximately 10 percent of the maximum remuneration rate for each SES level.
- Remuneration packages for Medical Specialists be increased similarly to other SES officers on and from 1 October, 1997.
The Tribunal has also recommended a new model of Performance Pay be adopted with a view to making SES Performance Pay a central feature of SES remuneration arrangements. Further advice will be issued when the Government has considered this recommendation.
Attached for your information is a copy of the Determination. The administrative guidelines which advise how the Determination should be implemented will be issued by Circular to Ministers and CEOs prior to 1 October, 1997. It should be noted that State Owned Corporations are not covered by this Determination.
