The Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT) has made its annual determination in relation to the Chief Executive Service and Senior Executive Service (SES).
In summary the Tribunal has determined that:
- The minimum and maximum remuneration packages for each of the eight levels be increased by 4% on and from 1 October 1998.
- A new specific performance payment be made available as a one off lump sum payment to officers whose services are assessed as being very satisfactory, superior or outstanding;
- Recruitment and Retention Allowances will remain unaltered at 1997 levels; and
- Remuneration for Medical Specialists be increased on and from 1 October 1998 together with the introduction of a one off lump sum performance payment.
The Determination is published in the Government Gazette of 25 September 1998.
Attached for your information is a copy of the Determination and the administrative guidelines which advise how the Determination should be implemented. It should be noted that State Owned Corporations are not covered by this Determination.
