M2000-03 Application of Statutory and other Offices Remuneration Tribunal Decision to Minister's Senior Staff

Detailed Outline

In late 1999 a decision was handed down on Senior Executive Service (SES) remuneration by the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT). The determination has been considered and I have approved the flow on of a 1% increase for all staff on remuneration packages linked to SOORT.

In line with earlier decisions, this increase must be linked to a formal performance review. A pro forma detailing the staff in your office who are eligible for the increase is attached.

Any approved increase in remuneration will be effective from 1 October 1999. MAPS Division, Premier's Department will advise the Chief Executive Officer of your host agency of any approvals. Please note: Ministerial staff are not eligible to receive performance payments or Recruitment & Retention Allowances as determined by SOORT.

All increases in remuneration are to be funded from within the approved budget allocation. Ministers are reminded that due to the current budgetary restraints, no other requests for salary increases will be considered.
