M2002-13 September 11 Remembrance - NSW Government Participation

Detailed Outline

The Premier has called upon all motorists across New South Wales to turn on their headlights on the morning of September 11 as a mark of respect to the victims of the World Trade Centre tragedy.

I have been asked by the Premier to seek the assistance of Chief Executive Officers in ensuring that all government vehicles join the tribute.

All New South Wales Government vehicles are requested to shine their headlights at 8.47 am, the exact time the first plane hit Tower One. Headlights should be left on for the duration of the journey.

Separate advice has been issued on the flying of flags on New South Wales Government buildings. The Premier has asked that flags be flown at half mast on all government buildings on September 11.

Your assistance in ensuring that the provisions of the Premier's instructions are carried out would be appreciated. All transport managers should be alerted to this direction.
