I refer to the Public Sector Management Amendment Bill 1995 which completed its passage through the Parliament on 20 September 1995 andcommenced on 13 October 1995.

Significant objectives of the Bill include establishing a Council on the Cost of Government, establishing the Public Employment Office (PEO), changing certain provisions in relation to members of the Senior Executive Service, simplifying machinery of government arrangements and improving mobility arrangements.

The Royal Institute of Public Administration Australia (RIPAA), in conjunction with the PEO, will be conducting two briefing sessions for your senior representatives regarding amendments to the Act. One session win be held on 27 October 1995 from 9.30am to 11.00am at Level 41 of Governor Macquarie Tower. The second session is to be held on the same day from 2.00pro to 3.30pm at the Main Conference Room, Level 7, Macquarie Tower, Department of Land and Water Conservation, 10 Valetine Avenue, Parramatta.

Briefing sessions for other staff will be arranged if there is a demonstrated demand.
