About
As you will be aware, the Premier has already announced that he wishes there to be a period of stability in employment levels in the New South Wales Public Sector.
In line with that objective, Mr. Fahey has asked that 1 inform you of his wish that there be no reorganisation of structures within portfolios without prior discussion with the Premier.
Also, Mr. Fahey is desirous of providing openings for employing as many as possible of the officers forming the private staffs of the Ministers prior to the recent Cabinet reorganisation. Accordingly, Mr. Fahey would be obliged if you would obtain his agreement before engaging for your private staff any officers who were not employed in a private office on 24th June. It is intended that this requirement will be cancelled as soon as it can be reasonably shown that the suitability of displaced private office staff members for new openings has been exhausted.
