Description
A new TC has been prepared to replace the Premier’s Memo, which contains outdated information, including referencing DPC’s Better Regulation Office, which was dissolved in 2013.
The TC recognises the changes in the roles and responsibilities of the Treasurer and Treasury for the NSW regulatory policy framework and sets out the expectations for regulatory proposals per the existing better regulation requirements under the Guide.
This is a necessary step to promote greater awareness and engage with agencies about the Treasurer’s new Ministerial responsibility and replace the outdated Premier’s Memo which is causing confusion for agencies.
DPC Legal Branch has confirmed a letter from Treasurer to Premier (Attachment C) is required to formally archive the Premier’s Memo.
