A review has been conducted of the car allowances payable to part-time members of Boards and Commissions for the use of their private motor vehicles on official business.

The new rates, effective from 1 August, 1994, will be aligned with public sector rates as issued by the Industrial Authority from time to time, which currently are 56.5 cents per km for vehicles over 2700cc, 52.6 cents for vehicles 1600-2700cc and 37.6 cents for vehicles under 1600cc.

Please bring these new rates to the attention of all relevant areas within your administration.
