Pending the appointment of Ministerial Private Office staff by the incoming Government, Chief Executive Officers of Host Agencies are requested to provide the necessary support to enable the proper functioning of the Private Office.
A suitably qualified and experienced officer should be nominated as the Departmental Liaison Officer. The officer will coordinate the operation of the Private Office and liaison within the portfolio until staff appointments are made by the Minister.
A minimum number of departmental staff should be allocated to work with the liaison officer to ensure that sufficient administrative support is made available to the Minister to enable the general functioning of the office in the period leading-up to the appointment of staff.
