NOVATED LEASES FOR 100% PRIVATE USE VEHICLES

With reference to Circular 96-12, Agencies and executive officers should be aware that any amount paid from an executive officers remuneration package to meet the cost of a novated lease will, according to the Australian Tax Office, attract FBT. In accordance with normal policy, the full cost of any FBT is to be recouped by the Agency from the executive officers remuneration package.
