About
In December, 1996 the Premier announced the creation of the Public Sector Awards to recognise outstanding achievements in the NSW Public Sector. The Premier has now approved a structure for the Awards and I am sending you a copy of the combined guidelines and nomination form.
The Awards are open to nominees from all NSW public sector agencies and services including Government Trading Enterprises and State Owned Corporations. There are three categories: to recognise achievements making a significant contribution to the economy and/or environment of NSW; achievements that significantly improve service outcomes (including to regional and rural NSW); and achievements that deliver improved employment equity outcomes and/or social justice.
The Premier has invited all Ministers to submit nominations from their portfolios. Accordingly, I request all Chief Executives consider submitting nominations from their agencies to me, as Chair of the Judging Panel by 31 August, 1997.
