As you may be aware, the Government is keen to increase tourism and associated economic benefits by attracting major events to NSW.
An Interim Major Events Evaluation Committee has been set up under the Chairmanship of Tourism NSW to consider proposals that are being recieved prior to the establishment of a permanent mechanism to attract major events.
A current activity of the Interim Committee is the establishment of a major events calendar. Tourism NSW has prepared a detailed calendar of known events. To ensure that this calendar is as comprehensive as possible, it would be appreciated if you could provide a list of events planned by or involving your organization until 2005.
It should be sent to Mr John Allen, Manager, Special Events, Tourism NSW, Level 2, 55 Harrington Street, The Rocks NSW 2000 by 27 June1997.
The information should contain month/year, name of event, expected delegates and contact officer/details.
