About
Following the release of the Model NSW Code of Conduct Premier's Memorandum 97-10, the Premier's Department has been working with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to develop a strategic framework to instil ethics and professionalism throughout the New South Wales Public Sector.
To complement this framework, Chief Executives are now required to include as an essential requirement in recruitment advertisements 'commitment to ethical practices'. You may already have noticed that this requirement has been included in all Chief Executive Officer recruitment advertisements for some time now.
Ethics training at induction for public officials is also a requirement. In conjunction with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) ICAC will be conducting training courses for trainers and human resource officers who conduct training sessions. ICAC have mailed to agencies details of the courses to be held in August and September. Registration forms are also available from IPAA on telephone
9228 5225. Course information is available from Sue Bolton, ICAC, telephone 9318 5835.
