About
INTERNET CONTACT DETAILS
In April 1996, Cabinet approved the use of the Internet as the preferred vehicle for 'on-line' community information dissemination.
Use of the Internet to improve Government service delivery is a key feature of the Government's information management and technology strategy embodied in the
Information Management and Technology Blueprint for NSW - A Well-connected Future, and the basis of further internet technology strategies in development.
The number of Government agencies with Internet home pages and officers with Internet electronic mail addresses, is growing rapidly.
To raise awareness in the community of the existence of agency Internet sites, the agency Internet home page address (Universal Resource Locater, URL) should be a standard feature on all government agency publications and correspondence.
To allow members of the community to communicate directly with Government officers via the Internet, notification of appropriate Internet electronic mail addresses should also be a standard feature on all government agency publications and correspondence.
Publications and correspondence includes letters, notices, business cards, reports, advertising, information brochures and tender documentation.
Existing publication and stationery stores should only be modified to include the Internet contact details as and when replacement is required.
