CIRCULAR 98 - 18 1998 PREMIER’S PUBLIC SECTOR AWARDS

The Premier’s Public Sector Awards are designed to recognise excellence in the New South Wales public sector. The inaugural awards in 1997 certainly demonstrated the public sector’s commitment to quality and dedication to excellence. I have enclosed details of the inaugural Award winners.

Nominations are now invited for the 1998 Premier’s Public Sector Awards. The closing date is 31 August 1998. Nominations are open to all public sector agencies and services including Government Trading Enterprises and State Owned Corporations. The categories for nomination are: a significant contribution to the economy and/or the environment of NSW; a significant improvement to service outcomes through technology and/or direct service delivery; and the delivery of improved social justice and/or employment equity.

I encourage all chief executives to nominate achievements from their organisations for consideration for a 1998 Premier’s Public Sector Award.
