About
The Public Service Association has directed its members to take industrial action with respect to the Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries June 1997) Award. A Stop-Work Meeting has been scheduled for the morning of Friday 12 June 1998.
Action has been taken by Premier's Department to seek the NSW Industrial Relations Commission~s assistance to avert this industrial disruption given the impact on service delivery to the NSW public.
Standard provisions in relation to staff who take industrial action are attached.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION
The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 1997 provides at Clause 13(xii)(a) that the provisions of the Industrial Relations Act, 1996 shall apply to the right of union members to take lawful industrial action. Section 13()di)(b)further provides that there will be no victimisation of staff members prior to, during or following such industrial action.
A decision to participate in industrial action or a failure to report for work during such action, rests with the individual.
Where employees are absent from duty to:
- attend a stop work meeting;
- comply with a direction to strike; or to
- support industrial action of other employee organisations.
the following provisions will apply:
- work is to be made available for all staff during any industrial action;
